Why is vegan green?

10 Billion animals being fattened up, and housed tightly for later consumption by us... the consumer.  Those animals burping and farting produce a LOT of methane, which is directly responsible for global warming.  You may think I'm kidding, or crazy - but I can assure you I am not.  Look it up.  Take a trip to your library.  Not to mention the millions of tons of toxic waste filled with antibiotics and growth hormones that seeps into the earth and the water supply.  Residues of antibiotics used only in animals have shown up in rivers and soil samples far from the original sites -- even getting into drinking water supplies.  (How does that fish sound?)  Along with the obvious reasons, land and soil being contaminated and no longer able to use for growing sustainable sources of food. We also use a LOT of food and water just to keep these animals alive for our later enjoyment.  It takes about 15 lbs of grain to produce 1 lb of meat.  Lactating cows drink 30 to 50 gallons of water a day! Not to mention all the water necessary for "cleaning" the places we house and store animals.  Lights, filters, heating systems, and other energy sucking devices. All ethical reasons aside, that is A LOT of energy used to produce a product that our body can't even handle. And it definitely doesn't NEED.  There are earth friendly alternatives that can be found within the vegan diet. Earth friendly, and you'll notice how much better you feel and look within a month.  I urge you to try it.  "Take nothing on its looks.  Take everything on evidence." Go ahead and spend some time reading through books and see what the different foods you put in your mouth actually consist of and how it works in relation to your body.  You might be very surprised.  I know I was.
